The Serene Elegance residence stands out from other designs with its key elements of a majestic Buddha statue and a black and white color scheme. These elements contribute to the soothing and covert ambiance of the house. The refined layers of lines and the use of special materials create an ever-changing play of light and shadow, both from the outside and inside. This consistently extraordinary design is further enhanced by a special lowered TV wall in the center, which links the multi-color design together and opens up a world of visual imagination while also partitioning the space.
In terms of realization technology, the interior space of Serene Elegance features an abundance of wood materials that evoke a sense of rural leisure. The double-height living room is adorned with a marble TV wall that reaches the ceiling, creating an extended and enlarged spatial feeling. High-toughness tiles are used on the ground and facade of the space, providing warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer while adding texture. The open space style, combined with continuous glass windows and corner window designs, creates a transparent feeling and transforms the outdoor view into a unique natural interior image.
When it comes to specifications, the design team took into consideration the needs of the client's family members. Sufficient bedrooms were planned, and the second floor and first floor living room were integrated into a comfortable double-height space. The six-meter height structure offers a completely different scale experience for this vacation house, with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a panoramic view. The transparent design method is also employed to expose the side of the stairs, adding sharp and rich outlines to the overall design.
Aside from creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, the design team also incorporated special functions for leisure activities. For example, the space under the stairs was ingeniously transformed into a twisted space, which serves as a clever storage area for speakers, meeting the home theater needs of the occupants. Additionally, the bathroom door on the first floor is made of the same wood material as the facade, creating a hidden door that enhances the cleanliness and comfort of the public area.
The Serene Elegance project was completed in Taipei, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research to ensure the integration of beauty and functionality. The use of concrete and black stone in the construction of this single-family vacation home, along with the large glass panels, creates a modern design that harmonizes with nature. The design team skillfully brought the rich outdoor landscape into the interior space through windows, allowing the green environment surrounding the house to fully envelop the entire space.
The design of Serene Elegance was not without its challenges. The installation of the light-colored marble TV wall, which reaches the living room ceiling, posed procedural complexities and safety risks due to the high structure. Additionally, the hot and humid characteristics of the project's site environment required measures to reduce discomfort. The design team applied a layer of heat insulation film to the building surface, greatly reducing the impact of the sun during the hot summers in Yilan. This film also provides excellent waterproofing, ensuring the durability and maintenance of the vacation home, even during periods of infrequent use.
In conclusion, Serene Elegance is a testament to the seamless integration of modern design and natural beauty. The combination of concrete, glass, wood, and stone materials creates a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail, from the majestic Buddha statue to the lowered TV wall, adds a touch of uniqueness and sophistication to the design. With its innovative features and serene ambiance, Serene Elegance is a true gem in the realm of vacation homes.
